New Beginnings: A Creative Workshop

Join Olivia Kenyon and the team from @emmajamesgallery and @gardensonthemind for the first in a beautiful new New Beginnings creative workshop series.

Taking place in a cosy garden studio in Bishopthorpe near York, this day-long gathering invites beginner gardeners and budding artists to explore the connection between art, nature and wellbeing. Expect seed sowing, mindful making, playful painting and nourishing vegetarian food – all in a gentle, supportive space to slow down and create.

In our latest Feel Good Q&A, we meet Mark O’Hanlon from Red Sage Holistic Therapies.

After struggling with insomnia, panic attacks and anxiety during his time studying pharmacy, Mark discovered the power of holistic therapies for himself. The impact was so profound that he eventually left the pharmaceutical world to follow a new path helping others through Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Reiki and Qigong.

Today, Mark supports clients to overcome challenges such as anxiety, stress, phobias, addictions, low confidence, and more, helping them move towards calmer, healthier and more empowered lives.

From daily Qigong practice in nature to life-changing client transformations, Mark shares the story behind his work and what “feeling good” really means to him.

Mark's therapeutic sessions are available in-person at his clinic in Ossett, as call-out sessions in the local community, online, and even as refreshing ‘Walk & Talk’ therapy sessions in nature - offering flexibility for everyone to meet their needs.

Spent a weekend last summer in the Yorkshire count

Spent a weekend last summer in the Yorkshire countryside with my phone in a drawer at my first weekend wellness retreat.

Felt like a new human.

Who knew... all it takes is stepping away from life, the to-do's, enjoying some wellness activities and having all your meals prepped for you. No decisions. Just the chance to regulate your nervous system, be fully present, enjoy connecting with yourself, reflecting, releasing and leaving with a new spring in your step.

The @genzenmeditationuk retreat included activities that were all optional, giving you the space and time to do what you needed, or even take a nap! Activities included yoga, meditation, breathwork, painting, connecting with nature, cacao ceremonies, ayurvedic massage and more.

Food was beyond scrumptious - the most wholesome plant based food provided by James @invigouratecatering - honestly leaving the meal planning and prep behind was amazing.

Made new friends whom I'm still in contact with now.

We were so blessed with the sunshine in the Yorkshire countryside at the stunning @westwoodretreatcentre

And after lots of searching, and getting curious to try new things, and connecting with different independent wellbeing practitioners in my local area... it all started to make sense!

Making sense of how we can support our minds, bodies and energy to feel good... shouldn't be a puzzle.

Which is what led me here...

To creating Feel Good Yorkshire - the new hub of wellbeing in Yorkshire of events, services and blogs to help others navigate their own unique path to feeling good.

Because everyone deserves to understand their options to feel good.
